Hi All!

I'm going to Wales on Friday and coming back Sunday to a family BBQ, and was wondering if my axies would be okay if I fed them and did a water change Thursday til Sunday? If anything does go wrong my mum will be at home, but I don't want to tie her down to the lotls.

So would they be okay if I did that?

Thanks in advance! :p

yes they should be fine, they can last a while without food. As long as the tank is cycled and the water is clear you shouldn't have any problem. They might just be a little more hungry when you get back!

Thanks yellowpebble! I thought it should be fine, but just wanted to double check! :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
