I've had Albus for almost a month now and feeding him as gotten easier. He's on a diet of red wigglers and bloodworms right now.
I was worried why he didn't seem to like eating them then read that they taste nasty to them. Not sure if that's true, but it makes sense.
Anyways, this morning I awoke to see Albus trying to eat his plant so I gave him two red wigglers (I had to chop them up) and a cube of frozen bloodworms. He kept it down for about two hours and I look over at him and there's a pile of food that had not been there before.
Apparently he threw it all up. I vaccumed it out of the tank immediately. The tank it 67 degrees F, 0 ammonia, and the pH is around 7.2.
Is this normal, if not, what do I need to do?

Attached it a picture of him after vomiting.

Your tank paramiters are fine, i wouldn't worry too much at the moment, if the picture of your axolotl is recent he appears in good condition, throwing up his food might just be a one off event. Keep an eye on him and if he caries on eating and displaying his usual behavior dont worry, they do this occasionally and doesn't necessarily mean they are ill.

The picture is 5 minutes after him vomiting.
Thank you for your help! I'll continue to keep an eye on him :)

A first time parent thinks about taking a newborn baby to the emergency room because he/she coughed once...... get the picture lol

mine throw up occasionally when they are over excited or in the mood  It shouldn't be a problem, just keep an eye on him

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
