I posted some pictures of the babies in Neptune's surgery thread. Any thoughts on types?
Here are Neptune & Jimmy (still snuggling as of yesterday.) Soon Neptune will be off to college, back with my daughter (and separated from Jimmy.)

i'm going to say a mix of wild type and golden albino, but its too early to tell yet.

Thanks!

Yes, we have a bunch that are golden with golden eyes... My camera doesn't zoom that well but I'll keep trying to get a picture...
I think that Jimmy is a melanoid, and Neptune is a wild-type.

Looks like maybe a couple of Melanoids in the 2nd pic too. The last pic has got me baffled. It looks grey but it's eyes are very light too.

Very pretty babies whatever they all are.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
