Hi there, we are first time breeders and would love to be part of this forum! We have learnt lots already, my name is Nick and I share this account with my friend Kasey, we both own the axolotls in which we are breeding. At the moment we have about 500 eggs, and we are going to attempt to raise them all. (we have all the daphnia ect ready to go!) There is about 10 of us in total going to be helping raise these babies, so we are well prepared! But thats our intro, and its nice to meet you all and be part of such a cool forum!!:happy::happy:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
