Hello all. It has been a while since I've posted.
So here's the situation - My leucistic (He/she is about 8 inches long) is having a cloacal problem. It has become noticeably large. Abnormally large. He is fed a good diet, has proper parameters, and is currently free from other tankmates. Could it just be a little constipation? Or worse?

If he is a he then he could have dropped his boy stuff or if she is a girl she couldve tried picking up the boys stuff or he/she could just need to do a big poop.......

if its abnormaly big it might be a prolapse, but probably not. Is he pooping?

A water change with colder water can stimulate male axolotls and their clocae can expand, i have seen this a few times when i have mistaken the temperature of new water

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
