Never imagined I would ever say that! :D

Jelly (we think that's his name...) absolutely loved them!

If only there was dirt around here...our ground is clay :( hard red clay! So I have to buy worms. I am going to try and start to raise them in a pot i have in my closet tho. We'll see how this goes.

It has been very wet here as well in Plymouth. Shall have to invest in a small spade and dig up some of the garden! I'm sure Rasputin and Aristotyl would love a juicy worm!

I read your comment and wondered if you were from Georgia, then I saw that you had it right under your avatar!

Our dirt sucks :(

He much preferred the earthworms to the bloodworm.

Question though. The person I bought him off had been feeding him a frozen cube (defrosted obviously) of bloodworm 3 times a week but I'm sure I've read on here that young axies should be fed daily? He (??) is 5 months old, around 5 inches. After his reaction to the worms (clearly thrilled with them and definately seems to be a bit perkier since) I would imagine he would happliy eat more?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
