Hi I have a golden axie who's a bit of a weird colour and was wondering if anyone could tell me what this type is called. He's like a normal golden axie, and has the shiney iriphobes, but he's not pure golden. If you look at him closely he has pinky/white spots all over. Kind of like a gold and white aero bar...

I can't take a photo as he's very small still, but people have been asking me what colour he is and I don't have a clue!

Also sorry if the post doesn't make much sense, I'm ill atm :/.

Goldens are often mottled, not a solid gold. Larvae will also change a LOT as they grow.

The shiny pigment cells are called iridophores, not iridophobes.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
