Do Salamandra always have yellow eyelids? At least, the ones that aren't spot-less.

Good question, I know there are some tingitaná populations witch can have strong reduction of the yellow spots, As you can see on figure 10 : http://vipersgarden.at/PDF_files/PDF-1367-gb.pdf I allso have some animals from this location of my own but are still young. Black and black and white animals are allso common in this area.

From those pictures, and what you posted, it seems like that's the normal, unless the animal has abberant coloration.

Come to think of it, maybe S.s.gallaica is the only one i ever saw without yellow/red eyelids and even that, most of them do have it.

Beautiful animals indeed. Would love to see an update when they are adults!

very very nice Jeroen, through this Algira we are related - the kids are from the same breeding, the same Mama-Algira,
I also keep them since last week in a 70cm case,

Waw, they grow fast on you than Ummi. Yours are much rounder two. You know fast growing is not allways good right. You feed them allso calcium? But nice to see some brothaers and sisters. I know Jari has a nearly adult sister and proublebly brother of ours, looking verry nice ! :)

the carrots you see in the case are for the woodlice and house-cricket,
I feed earthworms for calcium and different maggots...Dinner is served...
