New Axolotl with my other 2

hi guys, i have 2 axolotls at the moment there are roughly 4 inches long and maybe about 9 or 10 months old, im getting a bigger tank and want to get another , but ive read about them eating the younger ones, any advice please ? thank you jon

It's true what you read, a bigger axo can easily eat a young one, and they will when getting the chance
You can raise the new (young) axo seperate untill it is big enough to not get eaten, or use a tank devider
this last thing is more recommended if you ask me since they can already get used to eachother presence even if it is behind a transparant plastic wall

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
