Hi Caudata forums!

My name is Max, I'm a French guy but I have been living in Ireland for two years

I am the proud owner of a tiger salamander named Daenerys which I purchased a couple of months ago. She's doing and growing well, but I might have a couple of questions, hence why I came here!

hello Max!
i'm a new tiger salamander owner too :D welcome!

Welcome to the forum Max, you have certainly come to the right place to ask questions about any kind of salamander. I hope that you will post some pictures of you little guy for us to enjoy :D

Thanks guys! Here are a few pictures of the little monster :D

That's a tiger salamander?

Yeah, as far as I know! Might be worth asking the experienced forum members about the exact species.

Yes, it's a eastern tiger salamander!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
