Hello everyone,

I am a young French passion for caudata. I am already on a French forum. I knew this site long enough, so I registered here.

I raise some caudata: I have 1:1: X Tylototriton verrucosus, 3:2: X cynops orientalis, 0:0:3 notophtalmus v. viridescens, 0:0:9 cynops e. ensicauda, 0:0:2 Neurergus s. strauchii.
All my newts are CB.
I think I will have soon hynobius retardatus and cynops pyrrhogaster.
Unfortunately in France, many species are regulated. If we want to raise them, we must pass a "test", have a "certificate".
I'm too young to do it, and it's very difficult to obtain.

Finally, sorry for my poor English, I use google translate.

Hi Cerko,

It is a pleasure to meet you and I hope that you enjoy your time with us. Please, do not be too concerned about your english, it is clear what you are trying to say and that is what counts!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
