If any1 in the Britain needs a half decent size tub for transporting or fridging there Axolotl then pop down to a 99p store if there is one near you

it must be about 6 litres in capacity , i got a couple just incase, good to have these thing in case of emergency

probably be really useful for keeping babies in

I might pop down there and have a looky, thanks for the tip!

I usually use the microwavable plastic carton things for babies til they grow, it's like 99p for 6-8 of them, then I switch them to under bed plastic boxes. Might go for some slightly bigger ones this time though coz I don't want to worry about them jumping out the top!

@louby you gave me the best idea ever! ** probably stolen from dozens of previous hobbyists**
axolotls under my bed,

then i remembered i only own a matress :( xD!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
