I need advice .....soooo here in Massachusetts we will be having unexpectedly high temps for October! The air conditioner was shut off last month, and temps reached 80 today so we had no choice but to fridge. Now our place is at 70, but tomorrow will reach 85...should we leave out tonight then fridge again tomorow? Or keep in the fridge until this heat wave is over? The temp in the fridge is 43 degrees.

It would probably be best to just leave your lotls in the fridge. The fluctuations of temperatures causes stress and can also induce the growth of fungus! :) A nice vacation to the fridge is usually welcomed by most lotls.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
