I was looking for worms for my spotted sal, and I saw what looked like a worm at first then I noticed it was a redback sally! She is living under an archery target of all things, next to a shed and on the cool, shaded side of the house.

Thought I would only see her that day, but it has been three weeks and she is still hangin out, doing her saly thing. Got to see her resting on the plastic side of the shed - yeah they can totally climb sheer smooth things!

It is like a fabulous world underneath that target. I counted 6 species of insect, worm, slug and then the star of it all, Miss Sally.

So now I have another frend, nice and wild, I hope she comes back next year so I can enjoy her again.

Oh, and I will be buying another target - this one aint moving!

Thanks for listening!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
