Kitty's been floating about with her tail in the air for about a day, I thought it'd fix itself but she's still floaty and looking a bit wobbly. I've put her in the fridge, anything else I should do? Am I right in assuming she just needs to poop?

Nope no gravel or anything like that. I feel really worried about her being in the fridge, despite putting a big AXOLOTL IN FRIDGE sign and writing Hospital on her tupperware box. Must not sleep in kitchen tonight.

She's also swimming a bit strangely, but then I think I would if my bum was floating upwards :s

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
