Hi everyone,

My name is Max. I'm a 23 year old audio-engineer/producer from Belgium.
I've found salamanders fascinating for quite a while.
I have been reading allot on this website lately
and I believe I am ready to get my first salamander.

I currently have lots of praying mantis, stick and leaf insects, predator bugs and beetles.
And am now hoping to expand my collection with some salamanders.
I have been looking for hours and hours trying to decide what species to begin with
and to be honest I still have not made up my mind.
The only thing I am sure is I'd prefer a semi or completely terrestrial species.

I wrote down all the information of species I'd be interested in
and left to a reptile, amphibian and insect fair today,
thought fate would decide for me ... ended up finding no salamanders at all :D
So I'm hoping to find some soon.
And in the mean time continue to use this forum for knowledge, questions and anything else related.

Take care,
Max

Welcome to the forum Max, I hope you find the right salamander for you. Keep researching as many species as possible, so when you do find the one that appeals to you most, you'll be ready :)

By the way, your bug collection sounds great, I'm looking to get a few mantis species in the future, and I also have a soft spot for assassin bugs

Ye, I haven't done allot these last days, except look up all the info I could find.
I've decided to go for a Tylototriton sp.
My preference goes to the shanjing, wenxianensis or kweichow's or any other,
with the exception of verrucosus since they are least terrestial.

The assasin bug are great. I have the platymeris biguttatus at the moment
and am looking for the Rhadamanthus.
