When I this morning sad Hi to my little buddy I saw something white that was stuck in his nose. That white thing was coming out of his both nostrils. It looked like dead skinn. And he was swinging around with his head, rubbing it to the gravel and he tried do grab it with his mouth just to get rid of it. And then he swallow it… Just the same way he use to do when he exuviates.

Now this white thing is stock in only one nostril. Not in large amount’s. Any idea of what this stuff could be? And how I can help my little buddy? Worth to mention: last week I think he had an eye infection.

Could you get a picture, it may help in identifying it? I have no idea what it could be but shed skin... But that doesn't sound like what you are describing. Whatever it is, I hope it turns out okay :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
