I think I may buy some Axolotl eggs, but I currently have a 3 inch axolotl in my 3ft3 tank.
I was just wondering if there would be a time where the size difference would no longer be an issue. Say between the Axies that I'd buy now when they're 3 inch, and what my axie would be at this time?
Hope that made sense, lmao.

They start to slow their growth around 6 months old. So your little ones should catch up. It also helps that older juvies/adults aren't as cannibalistic as younger juveniles, but I still wouldn't put any snack-size axolotls in with big ones.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
