I just recently got 2 Marbles Salamanders. I got the smaller one several months before getting the larger one. I originally thought that the smaller was was a female but after looking at them side by side I am not confident about the sex of either of them. I kind of think that they are both females but I am just not quite sure. Does anyone have any better ideas on what sexes they might be? Thanks!

Based on coloration, I'd lean toward them both being female as well.

I find telling which sex my opacum a bit tricky unless they are all together. The males tend have their lighter parts whiter and the females are slightly brownish. My males at present are slimmer and the females are a little more rounded.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
