Hi folks! Whether you believe in Faith or Science or are just a vessel of love: remember to offer thanks for the joys we share in the comeraderie of caudates and to share of yourselves today. As much as the holidays are marked by the recieving of presents and good will, let us not forget to give a smile, a hug, and support to those around us whether we know them or not. It's a small step to holding up your end of the Cosmos and being stewards to ALL of the denizens of this world. A moment to take time out to recognize someone and make them feel wanted and needed costs but a moment, yet the effect can last a lifetime. The holidays are a rare time when we seem to want to be better people worldwide. Alas that that feeling can't be made manifest throughout the year. But it has to start somewhere and sometime. Let's make a conscious effort to make today the first day of love and peace that shall encompass the planet. To all of you wonderful people who have taken the initiative to provide a home for the little jewels that we call newts and salamanders: a very blessed day and upcoming year to you.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
