As of tonight I discovered a blister like lump on baby silvi. She still has her appetite and does all things she normally does. I have no clue as to what it could be or how to treat it I have looked on the axolotl.org health page and searched the forum but cant seem to find anything definitive. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just a suggestion because im not mega experienced but could it possibly be a small wound that has got infected? Do you have any items with sharp edges in your tank? Hope all turns out well.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
