Why do they yawn?, in humans it is said it cools our brains but what about them?

I know fish yawn to stretch there mouths before eating to help loosen up before hunting, I also know they do it to help with gag reflex. I know it sounds weird but they fill up to much on food and if it's starting to come back out they "yawn" to help keep it back. It's like us when we are about to be sick, once it starts going it is hard to stop so they prevent it. I also know some other amphibians like frogs also yawn alot after eating a large meal. But really, who knows...

A lot of people around here must yawn all day. Being there are so many hot heads....lol.

I always thought it was their commentary on my conversation.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
