I've got about 50-60 Hypselotriton orientalis larvae who are now big enough to eat chopped black worms but i was curious as to how long the chopped worms stay alive? I've been feeding them on fairy shrimp, baby daphnia and grindal/white worms but I'd like them to have as nutritious and varied diet as possible.

If I begin feeding primarily on chopped black worms, do I have to worry about cleaning up uneaten food as quickly as I do white worms or do they stay alive like a night crawler once its been chopped?

If chopped in larger pieces, they will not die right away. But, even though blackworms can reproduce by dividing, this chopping is an injury from which a large number of worms will simply die. Try to feed only an amount your animals can eat in a few hours. Or choose a smaller species of worm.
