Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to ship axolotl eggs abroad (so they'll go by air mail)? Will they freeze in the cargo and be wasted? Are there any technics to pack them so the temperature wouldn't damage them?

It's illegal. Mailing any living material, including eggs, usually violates postal regulations. On top of that, eggs are the same as an animal in terms of all the other legal issues involved in moving them between countries.

Haven't found anything saying it's illegal in Euurope. Living animals are forbbiden to ship.

Sure it's legal. You will just need import permits export permits and a CITES permit. Eggs, live axolotls, dead axolotls , and axolotl products all fall under the same restrictions. The permits should run you at least a couple hundred dollars.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
