im everett im new here from coventry ri im looking to buy a few axolotl i want one of each color variation if possible .i currently have a waterdog and i reallly like him . his name is marley and i have him in a 20 gallon setup with a marineland bio wheel filter mostly planted . he looks great but i dont want him to change into a salamander . i kno its inevitable .but thats y i want a few axoltls.i also have lots of fish tanks i have a 35 hex ,a 10 gal , a 75 gal, a 55 gal, and a 125 gal.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
