my salamanders havent been bouroing and i have been wondering why ?

Re: Bouroing

Do you mean 'burrowing'? Some species of salamander will burrow to avoid conditions that are too cold or too warm for them. They also may burrow to escape irritating light or for other reasons. What species of salamander do you have? Has their enclosure become warmer or colder for some reason?

Re: Bouroing

NWN - and then there are the fossorial salamanders that are adapted to digging and do, by nature, burrow and live underground, e.g., Ambystoma sp.

Yard boy - what species do you have and what is their setup and environment?

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
