Ahoy hoy! My name's Tash and I'm from Australia. I have 2 axolotl's, one charcoal one named Jules (because axolotl's have personality and personality goes a long way) and one gold one, which is technically my 5 year old daughters and is called.... Scootaloo Pinky pie Apple Jack... But who I refer to as Goldie... :)

Welcome Tash! You'll be right at home here, there are several Australian members on the forum.

Yes welcome from a fellow Aussie, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the site as I do, there are some great people with a wealth of knowldege here, and some of us like me who are still learning.
axololts are wonderful creatures.

Welcome! Would love to see some pictures of Jules and Scootaloo (very cute names by the way)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
