Help egg popped!

I was going to move the eggs to a different tank cause the one i had cracked so i went to get a fishnet .I was on the side of the tank when my had slipped and splat one egg with a baby in it broke but the larvae was alive and moving :(.They are 2 weeks old and earlier this day one hatched so i don't know if he will be ok .He is on his side right now is that normal?

Don't worry too much about this. I actually opened many of the eggs I got on purpose since they were taking longer than the others to hatch. If you have had one hatch on its own already then there shouldn't be a issue. I is not unusual for them to not be able to rest on the bottom without being on their sides..

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
