hi im from missouri. i have up and going 4 10 gal, 1 15 gal, 2 55 gal, 1 72 gal, corner 50 gal, and a 180. i have many differnt fish and 8 axolotls. 2 afarican gray parrots, 2 ferrets, and a lil old poodle lol. im just here to share what i know and to learn that much more.

Welcome to the site. i am also in Missouri, I just started with axolotls I have 2. I have a 75 gallon fish tank with 2 green severums and a fantail goldfish, 1 black & white argentine tegu, blue tongue skink, tiger salamander, tree frog, 8 dogs 1 is a poodle :) I have also had in the past ferrets (3). I think you will enjoy the site there is plenty of info.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
