I have two eggs that have a set of twins each! I've been watching super close to make sure they are forming properly, and the dark set swim around in that little egg like the motorcycles in that metal cage/ball at the circus! Totally opposite, and they don't collide! Lol!

The other set is a little older and the babies are white, they are almost completely split and I think they should be two separate lil'lotls by the morning! :)

My question is this, will they be all right??? Healthy little identical twin babies?? Or, do they have problems in this species with multiples? The first pic, the twin egg is in the center in the glare (lovely, I know!) and the second is the two toward the center lying side-by-side :D

Sidenote: I LOVE the color of the white eggs! They look like mint green! haha! I know they are going to change, but I can still hope, right? :p

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
