Hello, I'm new to this so here goes: My names Annick, I have two I think Tiger Salamander Larvae, I'm not completely sure. They were purchased from a mall in Houma, La. They are starting to morph so I would like to find out what kind they are. Any help would be nice. Thanks!

Hi Annick. You will find good information on this site. I too purchased my Tiger Salamander from the mall in Houma. Mine has completed the metamorphisis but I don't think his colors are complete yet. I purchased him on February 20. Listen to the advice given to you on this site, not necessarily the advice given when you purchased.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
