Hi,

When I got my two axxies in January they used to pooped pretty much every day. They were about 6 months old when I got them and they ate bloodworms mostly. Now they are older and they are earthworm eaters (plus the odd maggot and lobworm as a treat) but they rarely seem to poop. They aren't overly fat and they are definately growing so should I be worried that they aren't pooping as often as they used to.

Thanks

hahahaha i was actually wondering the same thing the other day! i didnt have time to get on here and check so i justified that beacuse they keep eating there are no apperent signs of impaction so i didnt worry. then when i was doing a real good clean the other day i found way more **** that had hid itself in the sand. So i figure they poo a lot more than i relize and in areas of the tank that are hard to see/clean.

but yeah i was wondering the same thing!

My axie seems to be going approximately once every other day. He's about a yr. old and about 5-6 inches long.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
