Hi,
I have an Axolotl and I love her to pieces, she's my little baby. The past week she has been slowly going off her food but now she won't eat at all. She's in a clean tank and a happy, stable environment. I'm so worried about her, can anybody help me please? She's 14cm long last time I measured but that was about a month or so ago.
Thank you for reading this.

What type of foods have you been trying to feed her, could she have swallowed a peice of substrate, i.e stones or gravel, therefore she may have a blockage, has she been having a poo? Have you changed anything in the tank recently? I know you say she's in a happy stable environment, but a bit more info may be helpful. Thanks

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
