Hi my name is kristy I found this site while searching for information on axolotls. I believe I have three but Im not sure now as I just got back from a three day vacation and one now looks alot like a salamander ( what I was researching when I found this). I am trying to figure out how to post to other locations so any help someone can offer to a newbie is greatly appreciated.

 Hi Kristy,

Welcome to the Forums. I'm relatively new to Axolotl's so I can't the question you asked in the other post, but someone will be able to help. This place is a great source of information.

Best advice I can lend is to just post pictures of what you have, there are experts on here that will know exactly what you have in minutes. this forum is by far the most informative I have ever come across and everyone is quite friendly and very willing to help newbies.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
