Hi

I have two axies who have been fine lately. There very happy and have been eating well etc. However today i cleaned there tank out and moved it (rearranging the room to make the axies easily accessable). I decided to give them a small piece of raw chicken each as a treat. Ive came back in and both have thrown it back up and one has also bought yesturdays dinner up aswel. There gills are flapping aswel. There still walking around etc but im very worried. Ive obviously taken the sick out but is there anything else i should do? Should i give them something or just leave them alone? shall i feed them earthworms tomorrow still?

Thanks:confused:

What size are your axies, and what do you normally feed them. Also how often and how much do you feed? Axolotl will bring up their food when they have eaten too much.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
