The other day as I was feeding my Axolotls I noticed my wild type's face looked a little funny, but I couldn't really place what it was and eventually assumed it was a combination of the bowfront playing tricks on me, and the fact that hes a little goofy looking anyways.

However, today there is a noticeable bump on his right cheek, below/behind the eye and above the mouth. Looks a bit like you feel after getting a tooth pulled. If anyone knows what this might be and/or a potential cause and solution I would greatly appreciate any input.

Lumps are still there, he doesnt seem to be acting any differently, just want to make sure it's nothing serious.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
