My name is Haley :)! I'm very new to this, and just got interested in vivariums. I just love that mossy river look! I have an empty 40g long, but I have no idea on what to do with it or how to start! Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums, Haley :)
I´d suggest starting with the CC articles (check my signature). Once you become acquainted with the basics you can move on to learning about the specific requirements of the species of your interest.
The forum is also full to the brim with information and interesting threads, so read away!

Hello Haley, Welcome to the forums, Im sure you'll learn a lot. :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
