Welcome to you, and to me! Welcome to...myself? How odd!

Long story short, I'm hoping that I can use this site as a means to acquire a pet Axolotl. They seem to be incredibly hard to find in New York...I've been calling and emailing everywhere! So I'll be posting from time to time to see if I can find any private breeders or retail shops that sell nice, healthy, and adorable little guys that I can care for!

Professionally, I'm a 3D/CG artist working in Manhattan. I also love turtles, but don't own one either. Perhaps my next personal project can be modelling an axolotl XD

Crazed, much?

Hope to hear from some of you in the future!

Welcome! Check out our advertising sections, there is usually at least one breeder selling axolotls. And most of the regular sellers here have recommendations in the Testimonials section.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
