Ok I have three firebelly newts. The one all of a sudden got real bloated.. His face mouth the whole shabang.. I figured I was overfeeding him but the others were the same normal size. I waited a couple days to see if it was that.. However no change. I read somewhere that he might have a bacteria infection or something and to give him marcyn ! and @. I proceded with the maracyn one for about 3 days.. he went back to his normal size. However he hasnt been moving around very much and prefers to stay on his rock. I picked him up and he dsnt even seem interested in crawling away like his comrades do. Any info would be great.. I just stated the maracyn2 as well.

If you were able to get the bloating to subside, that's an unusual success. Bloat is often untreatable. If the bloat is gone, I wouldn't hit him with any more drugs, just keep him cool and comfortable.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
