Has anybody used this product on axolotls? I was given it to treat my platys when they were housed with adcf's and was told by the company it would be safe for the frogs. They seemed to tolerate it ok.
It doesn't contain malachite green but has methylene blue.

It is a broad impact medicine, used for 'parasites, bacterial infections, fish fungus and wounds'.

Here is a link to the specifics and ingredients :

My two are suffering from mystery spots which I've been told could be any of the above. I am currently treating them with salt baths and Indian almond leaves and have minor signs of improvement.

I definitely don't want to rush in with chemicals but it may be handy as a last resort if proven to be safe.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
