Hello, My name is Shahmea and I currently live in New Zealand. I am from Innsbruck, Austria. I love to read, write and keep animals! I love them so much. I'm training to become a chef sometime in the future hopefully, cooking and animals are my passion. I own two axolotls, One Leusitic, a male, who is around 15cm long. He is around one year. I also have a wildtype female who is around 10cm and also around the same year. They have laid eggs that have hatched before. I also own: A chicken, six lorikeets, two indian ringed parakeets, two cats, two dogs and some Betta Splendens :) And a few other fish. I am currently trying to get hold of a bigger aquarium as I am looking to buy Angel Fish. I am currently thinking about breeding my Betta fish and I am waiting for my female to lay eggs!!

I am friendly to talk to so don't be shy, but I must warn that I don't know my way around here very much :) :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
