I tried to move a tank that i have out the frount the house into my room (that i unfortunitly share with my twin sister). my parents are set on not letting me get an axolotl before i'm 19 (15 at the moment):(. anyway i cleaned a space on my desk for it to go, but i ended up taking it back out. i origenly got the tank at an op shop for $35 along ith an airstone, fake plants, gravel (not going to be used), goldfish flakes and a fake piece of wood.
i got a 100L filter for $21 on the weekend. the tank dimentions are 50 x 25 x 30cm (not very big i know) but it will do for one axie.
i'll post pictures when i can of the tank and spot where i want to have it.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
