Hi there everyone :)
I really want to breed my axolotls this summer, but I thought it would be a good idea to confirm that they are actually a boy and a girl!!
Can any one tell from these pictures?

Thanks :D

i'd say the albino is a female, but it's really hard to tell with the male... he looks to have a slightly larger bulge... but I can't say for sure.... do you have any higher-res pics??

I sure hope those aren't recent pics..

if you're saying that because of the gravel, this user has been properly informed of the danger of those by myself and another member. Don't be too harsh, it's a case of misinformation is all.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
