Do I need some sort of pump that will go into my tank that will move the water and create oxygen for them?

You don't need one. I've never used one. If you see your axolotl gasping for air a lot then I would consider getting one.

it's not really a necessity because axies can take small breaths if they need too. it helps to aid is exchange of gasses and helps keep the temperature stable throughout the tank by mixing the water column and can even help reduce the temperature in the warmer months.

I have a airstone bubbling slowly and mine don't seem to mind, they seem enjoy swimming though it and even sitting on it. they snap at the bubbles too which is amusing.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
