Ok my tank is cycled and ready to go i just want to make sure everything looks ok . anything i should add or change? ignore the fact that only 1/2 the tank has sand, the store only had one bag ans were not sure if they would get more in for a few weeks so i started it out like this and it is now covered on both sides.
also ignore the fish, they wont b staying they are just keeping the tank cycled till i get my little guys or gals in a few weeks
i also wont have that bright light on all the time i will either get a dimmer bulb or keep it off

Looks good to me but as previously said just check some of your hides for sharp edges - axie skin is very delicate and the last thing you want is one getting hurt! Other than that it's a great set up

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
