Hay guys. I'm gelling a new tank that comes with an internal filter. My question is, is there any way to speed up the cycling of the new tank. Will the sand from the old tank help it along? My old filter is a hang off the back model and could not be louder. Also I plan to get another axolotl. Are there precautions to take when adding a new member to your tank? Any help is great thanx

Adding the sand from your old tank is the best way to speed up your cycle. Beneficial bacteria live on the surfaces of your tank: filter, substrate, decorations, etc. Anything you can move from the old tank to the new will help (as long as it hasn't dried out in the process). If possible, run the two filters side-by-side for a bit, or take some of the old filter media and just hang it in the tank for a while.

Adding a new axie is fine. Usually I rearrange the tank a bit first, and then add the new guy.
