So I'm sure this has been done somewhere and I was trying to see examples. Some of you know and some of you may not know I have a channel on youtube for axolotls that I've been trying to keep more up to date on now. Well my idea is to get one egg from the first time it's hatched all the way up to a year and take a picture and/or short video of it everyday. Has anyone done this? If so I would love to see it.

Taking photos/videos for say the first couple of months is a good idea but after that I'd probably take them ever week. They really don't grow that fast to make every day worthwhile. Good luck with your venture.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
