Sorry if this is in the wrong place,

I get my ax babies in about 3 weeks, they will be 3 months old and my question is what will they be eating and until when?
I know the diet changes as they get older but im getting confused with it all.
Sorry if its a dumb question but i dont want to get it wrong
Thanks

It depends more on their size rather than their age, in my experience anyway. I feed juveniles smaller than 3 inches daphnia and brineshrimp. Once they hit 3 inches I feed them bloodworm. Then once they hit around 4-5 inches they get bloodworm with chopped earthworm thrown into the mix. Earthworms are by far the best staple for (sub)adults.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
