So, 7AM this morning my partner wakes me up with... "Beks! The worms have escaped!"

If you plan on keeping worms in a tub, make sure its got no small holes so that can't escape and take over your bedroom (Mine had very small holes in the hinges of the lid). Even better, don't decide to store them on top of your wardrobe, they might end up in your clothes if they do escape!

They are now taped up and stored underneath the axolotl tank. :uhoh:

Just leave a light on over the tub. The worms will stay in the substrate and not venture out.

I learned from experience!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
