I have 9 hatchlings...they are about two weeks old now, I was wondering if it was possible for them to over eat? Lol, I ask because they REALLY like to eat, a lot. We had one last night who looked just looked plump full stuffed. I am now wondering if it is possible for them to over eat? Any comments would be great! :)

I have read about the adults not being fed to much, but I can't find anything about the hatchlings. Thank you! :)

Apparently it's best that they're practically swimming in food to start with. It seems logical as they're very fragile to start with and a lot of food will make them stronger faster. If they're not hungry they won't eat.

Mine are proper little fatties (when they finally started eating. Took long enough, lol).

How big are yours now? My newborns(8 days old today) are ~ 1.5cm, and my juveniles ~6 weeks are 2" ^_^

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
